Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you Tammy for your quick reply to my Acrylics question. :)

Second...okay, as many of you know, I am still in School and I am Graduating w/in the next 3-5 months depending upon how my Student Salon Procedures rack up, how quickly means how quick I can go take State Board.

Now, I am wondering...because I have heard a ton of different things so I wanted to ask anyone on the Boards here, from New Techs to experienced ones...

What's the "cut" that new Graduates can expect to earn out there? Is it hourly or is it commission?

I helped run a local Nails Spa here right before I went into School, it was actually the Reason I went into school for Nails (I'll tell the Story here someday) and I saw the new, Manicurist "Only" Techs making about 80-100 a day with a 50/50 split; I saw the more Experienced & Acrylic Techs making oh, I'd say anywhere from 175-190 )and for both those Stats I saw Tips averaging about $3-5 per hour for a 10-hour Day.

Now, I was just told in School today, that the Recession has brought about Salons taking a LARGER CUT of that "50/50" from Techs now, especially those just Graduated...and I was told to expect 20-40% of all services and really no more than 10 an hour average now, if that.

Folks, who's making what out there?

New Techs, are you still getting the 50/50 split or is this becoming a thing of the past?

Experienced Techs, can you give me a fair "ballpark" of what I can expect as a Natural Nails Tech out there? Should I work 2 Jobs or maybe go into it slowly, like 1-2 days a week until I build a decent Book?

Thanks in advance!!

Wow that is news to me. I don't believe that to be the case and would not work for less the 50/50. Oh and your welcome!

*nods*

Yeah, my Contact in FLA said it's 60/40 but I would not go any less than 50/50 myself!

I can do a great Pedicure and desire to earn what I am worth on that one!

Thanks again!
